In 1988 he won the Artist of the Year award from the Indian Arts and Crafts Association. The #8 mine has produced some of the largest and most coveted Turquoise in the US. The mine is thought to be long depleted and the majority of the #8 Spiderweb Turquoise was pulled in the early 1950s.
